If I buy a sweater quantity or more, will the skeins match?
We take the utmost care in matching your yarn for you. Whether it is hand-dyed by us or dyed by another company we carry, if we feel that the skeins do not match as well as we would like, we will contact you with photographs to get your opinion on the order. We will always match dye-lots when applicable. Your satisfaction with the yarn you purchase is the most important thing to us.
You are sold out of a color I would like, will you make or get more?
If the color you are after is a regular HoALM colorway, yes we will! Fill out the contact form for any inquiries; Beth keeps a thorough list of requested colorways. If the yarn you are looking for is from another company, let us know your request and we will do our best to get it for you!
Do you have a store that we can visit?
Yes! Our newly opened store is located at 52 NW 2nd St, Gresham, Oregon, just outside of Portland.
Do you offer classes or stitch nights?
We hope to soon! With the current COVID-19 restrictions in our area we are unable to host classes, stitch nights, lectures, or private lessons. We have our fingers crossed this will change in 2021.
How do I pay for my purchase?
We accept all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, Google Pay, and Apple Pay (currently online only).
Do you accept cash in-store?
We do! Along with all cards.
Will you wind my yarn for me?
Yep! Just leave a note on your order form or ask in-person at checkout.
Do you ship internationally?
We do! We ship yarn to customers all around the world via USPS.
I made several orders, can you combine them?
We can combine multiple orders as long as they were placed reasonably close to one another and they haven't already been packaged and processed. Shipping costs are determined by USPS and are calculated by actual product weight at checkout, we will refund any large overages.
Where is my stuff?
Orders ship out within 1 to 5 business days. When your order has been completely processed you will receive an email notification with your tracking number. We strongly advise following your package's tracking completely through the system until it is delivered. If an issue arises, it is is best to notify us as soon as possible. Please Note: Once packages are accepted by the USPS, House of A La Mode can not and does not assume any responsibility for lost, misplaced, or damaged items.
Do you accept custom orders?
UPDATE Autumn/Winter 2020: At this time, we can only consider custom order requests for additional skeins if you are nearly done with a project/pattern and need that one last skein. Please fill out the contact form to inquire.
Where is your yarn sourced?
All of the yarn we offer is ethically sourced from museling-free farms, both large and small, in South America. Our supplier is based in the US.
I'm a pattern designer and would love to use your yarn, how should I move forward?
We love working with independent designers! Please email us here via the contact page as we cannot answer Instagram, Ravelry, or Facebook direct messages about design opportunities in a timely manner.
